ORIGINAL CHAMPION CONCEPT

Avia&Moria

Two sisters. One body. Opposing directions of time.

01 / THE DESIGN QUESTION

What if time in a MOBA were not a single status effect, but a complete combat system?

Avia&Moria is an original dual-form champion concept for League of Legends. It introduces Time Flow: a unified rule that changes how quickly an affected unit experiences game time. Movement, attacks, casting, projectiles, cooldowns, periodic effects and durations all accelerate or slow together. The champion’s two sisters embody opposite temporal states—Avia creates Overtime from range, while Moria converts that advantage into close-range control.

02 / CORE MECHANIC

Time Flow changes the rate at which a unit experiences the game.

100%

Baseline

Every champion, minion, monster and turret begins at the same temporal rate.

>100%

Overtime

Actions and cooldown recovery accelerate, while buffs and shields expire sooner.

<100%

Time Lag

Actions and projectiles slow, while existing effects remain active for longer.

03 / DUAL-FORM IDENTITY

Only one sister can be corporeal. Switching form rewrites the combat problem.

RANGED / ACCELERATE

Avia

Maintains distance, creates additional casting angles and builds Overtime through repeated skill shots.

  • Tall, outward six-wing silhouette
  • Pale starlight and translucent nebulae
  • Establishes temporal advantage
MELEE / DELAY

Moria

Enters close range, pulls enemies inward and converts accumulated temporal difference into control and damage.

  • Compact cocoon silhouette
  • Deep-blue shell fragments and four arms
  • Commits and converts advantage

04 / PASSIVE PROGRESSION

The greater the temporal difference, the greater the pressure.

ASYNCHRONOUS EXISTENCE

Avia and Moria deal bonus magic damage to enemies whose Time Flow is lower than their own. Every hit evaluates the difference at impact.

SCATTERED MOMENTS

Units entering Overtime or Time Lag can generate Temporal Fragments. Both forms share every collected fragment.

INFINITE SCALING

Each stack permanently adds 0.10 percentage points to the sisters’ temporal effects, strengthening the system rather than raw attack stats.

05 / ABILITY ARCHITECTURE

Two kits share one rule but create opposite rhythms.

AVIA DOMINANT

Establish distance

Q / Six-Wing Sequence Three recast waves fire from different wing pairs and stack Overtime when they connect.

W / Twin Transition Avia recedes; Moria arrives with a pulse that damages and applies Time Lag.

E / Synchronous Covenant Links an ally to Avia, grants Overtime and creates a second, reduced projectile angle.

MORIA DOMINANT

Commit at close range

Q / Cocooned Time Theft Pulls enemies through a frontal cone, applies Time Lag and empowers the next attack.

W / Break the Cocoon Dashes before returning to Avia; interruption cancels the transformation.

E / Temporal Absorption Drains nearby enemy time, builds a shield and prepares a conversion attack.

06 / ULTIMATE

Time Zero turns one champion mechanic into a battlefield condition.

40 / 50 / 55%Base temporal change
1,000 / 1,400 / 1,700Field radius
3 / 4 / 5.5 sDuration

Avia&Moria accelerate themselves while applying an equal Time Lag to every other unit in the field—including champions, minions, monsters, turrets and travelling projectiles. Units recover their previous Time Flow when they leave; an ally linked by Synchronous Covenant can synchronise with the sisters and ignore the field’s delay.

07 / GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCE

A combat loop built around when—not only where—to commit.

01

Establish

Avia maintains range and begins widening the temporal difference.

02

Commit

Switch only when control, fragments and positioning make entry survivable.

03

Convert

Moria turns temporal advantage into displacement, shielding and close-range damage.

04

Reset or escalate

Return to range when the exchange becomes unsafe—or accelerate the fight further.

Gameplay loop, performance comparison and scaling curve
The project treats time as an interconnected ruleset rather than a collection of unrelated speed buffs and slows.
